Mahoney State Park
1998

Suni

May 22, 1998, was the starting date for the sixth Mahoney State Park melodrama season. The schedule remained the same as the previous season as this format seems to be the most favorable for both cast and park visitors. Also, the dinner train show and the fall season were both continued with approximately the same number of performances. Our casting of three male and three female actors at the park and three female and two male actors for the train show remained the same as last season also. The usual personnel changes were made to all casts, with Shannon Marple-Hespe and D. Chapelle both directing the train and fall shows, respectively. The plays selected for production at Mahoney were "The Felon's Folly" and "The Fiend of the Footlights", by Peg Sheldrick, and "Foul Works at the Fireworks Factory" by D. Chapelle. The play chosen for the dinner train was "Scoundrel of Dagger gulch", an original written expressly for the train by D. Chapelle. The fall season ran a total of 11 weeks again and has proven to be very popular with Park visitors. Four actors were cast for this show, two female and two male. The play chosen for the fall was "Lovely in Danger" written by D. Chapelle. Michael Bergstrom agreed to perform for the first three weeks because Craig Oehring had a schedule conflict.
