"The Tell - Tale Heart"
by Edgar Allen Poe
Adapted for radio by D. Chapelle
Play Synopsis
One of Edgar Allen Poe's most famous short stories. It is told by a servant who endeavours
to convince the reader of her sanity, while describing a murder she committed. Poe has given us one of the most
powerful examples of the capacity of the human mind to deceive itself and then to speculate on the nature of its own destruction.

Cast Requirements:
One of the interesting things about doing radio drama is that you don’t have to look the part to perform the
part. A short guy can play a basketball player or a sweet little girl can play a cranky old woman or a teenager
can play a senior citizen. Case in point is an actor named Casey Kasem. He started playing Shaggy in the Scooby-Doo
cartoons when he was thirty-seven years old and kept at it until he was seventy-seven. It also means you can use
as few or as many actors as you’d like. If you have any questions about how any of this works drop me a line at [email protected]
